I took this photo on my first trip to Norway. It was a pretty incredible feeling to see the house my father was born in just down the road from this sign. In a way, Norway and Fagerland were always fictional places to me. The rocky west coast, fjords, and icy sea were alive only in my dads stories. I saw the school house where he went to school and visited the farm that he worked at as a teenager. I met my fathers sister for the first time. She said I look just like him. It all seemed familiar to me. Not like I had been there before. It was just exactly how I had imagined it. I miss Norway.
